Seth Rollins: It saddens me to criticise CM Punk, but he and Logan Paul are as selfish as they come.

This week, Seth Rollins has been handling media duties at the Super Bowl in Phoenix. Given that Rollins is an avid football fan and a great ambassador for WWE, it makes sense.

It’s also a wonderful opportunity for Seth to promote his developing feud with YouTube mogul Logan Paul for WrestleMania 39 by putting him in front of the mainstream media that will be gathered in Arizona for the NFL championship game on Sunday, Feb. 12. The Paul name is well-known outside of the world of professional wrestling, and the WWE will heavily promote their biggest event of the year by hyping his speculated match with Seth Rollins in Southern California on either April 1 or 2. CM Punk

Rollins was addressing Logan Paul during an interview on Covino & Rich on Fox Sports Radio. Seth admires the effort of the “Media Megastar” who knocked him out of the Royal Rumble last month, but he concerns his dedication to the wrestling industry. Seth believes Paul is utilising WWE and stealing places from wrestlers who have devoted their life to the sport in order to enhance his own brand.

After discussing that subject, hosts Rich Davis & Steve Covino said a “big wrestling geek” friend of theirs advised them to question Rollins about CM Punk. Seth refers to his earlier remarks on “Chicago Phil,” links his disagreements with Punk to Logan Paul, and offers some kind words for the outcast AEW(?) star:

“Well, I don’t need to repeat what I said about Chicago Phil in an interview last week. If you need to, I’m sure you can Google it. Look, the bottom line is that it’s the same thing as with Logan Paul. Punk and Logan Paul are two different personalities — but they’re both as selfish as it comes. And if you’re not going to help, then I don’t want you to be part of our industry. I don’t want you to be part of our company, and that’s all that there is to that.

“Here’s the thing, I’ll say one thing about Punk — I’ll end it on a positive note with him. That guy has given my career so much, that it pains me to have to say bad things about him, because he helped me out. He really did. He’s been a good guy to me for a lot of my career. But for whatever reason, the past maybe six, seven years, he’s in a different headspace and we’re not on the same page. And to see what he’s kind of done, and taken and taken — it’s always been about him. I’m not a fan. I’m just not a fan, I’m not a fan of it.”

Rollins ends the conversation on that subject by expressing optimism for Punk’s future, which is pertinent given the most recent information on the former ROH, WWE, and AEW World champion’s health:

“… there’s a place for him, man. He’s got a lot to give. I just wish — I wish his head was in the right spot.”

If nothing unexpected happens, a Logan Paul/Seth Rollins match at WrestleMania seems to be in the cards. Will Punk return to professional wrestling and/or have anything to say in reaction to Rollins’ remarks are the greater mysteries.
And can Seth concentrate on promoting his WrestleMania show, or will his position on Punk keep coming up?
