Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2022 official date is announced

On its website, upsc.gov.in, under the What’s New section, UPSC has published the reserve list and marks of non-recommended candidates for the IES 2020 Mains test. Candidates may look up the list on the internet. Candidates for the Civil and Mechanical Engineering Services are listed by roll number and name on the list.
The UPSC Mains 2021 DAF (detailed application form) has been issued on the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) – upsc.gov.in. As part of the selection process, candidates who meet the UPSC Prelims cutoff will be required to take the IES Mains test. As a result, candidates must complete the DAF between December 27, 2021, and January 7, 2022.

The Indian Engineering Services Exam officers are appointed by the Union Public Service Commission based on their performance in the IES Exam. For the Engineering Services Examination, the UPSC conducts a three-stage competitive examination (preliminary, main, and personality tests) (ESE).
Two objective types (multiple choice) question papers with a total of 500 marks will make up the Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage-I) Exam. Paper-I has a total of 200 points while Paper-II has a total of 300 marks.

IES (UPSC ESE) – Vacancies 2022

UPSC will also disclose the number of vacancies along with the notification. These openings will be subject to the category-based reservation system. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) will be given priority for seven positions (03 vacancies for Locomotor Disability including Leprosy cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack victims and Muscular Dystrophy & 04 vacancies for Hard of Hearing). The number of openings is subject to change.

IES (UPSC ESE) Eligibility 2022

A candidate must be either: (a) an Indian citizen, (b) a Nepalese subject, (c) a Bhutanese subject, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962. The following are the detailed eligibility criteria:

IES (UPSC ESE) Age Limit and Relaxation

The candidates must be at least 21 years old and not more than 30 years old on January 1, 2022. They had to have been born between January 2, 1992, and January 1, 2001, to qualify.

IES (UPSC ESE) Educational Qualification

  • An applicant must have a degree in engineering from a recognised university to sit for the exam.
  • Passed the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers’ Graduate Membership Examination (India)
  • Acquired an engineering degree/diploma from a foreign university/college/institution
  • A candidate who has taken and passed an examination that would qualify him educationally for this test but has not yet received notification of the results may apply for admission to the examination.
